Class Descriptions

Too often dancers are taught technique while their artistry and performance skills are left untrained. With the understanding that technique is essential as the dancer's language and means of clear communication, I believe that creative imagination, artistry, and musicality can be developed in tandem with physical skills.

 Technique

Contemporary Technique:

Based on the Muller Technique, using breath, dynamic phrasing, and creative visualization to enable the dancer to use a full range of virtuostic technical skills in a way that is healthful for the body. A 1 1/2 to 2 hour class that beings with a series of center and barre exercises designed to warm up the body and hone
awareness skills. The class culminates with across the floor phrase work.

Ballet Technique:

Classical barre and center work, with a focus on technique as a means of clear expression.
